I met Ayman in the early 90's. We were introduced by another close friend, David Traub. The first time I met Ayman we spoke for hours and hours. His told many stories of his past and he was so honest and authentic and just brilliant. His energy was totally positive and I had travelled a lot and met many people from all walks of life, and knew we would know each other forever. We would meet for wonderful Lebanese meals when he came to Los Angeles, or at people's homes. He was always so welcoming and generous and just a pleasure to be around.
We did not see each other often but when we did it was as if we had been in touch daily.
I was honoured to interview Ayman for my radio show in Australia while he was in Lebanon just a few months ago. It was a wonderful interview but the phone line and recording was challenged and so he agreed to redo the interview – I wish I had made it more of a priority, it is no longer possible to do again.
I will think of him often and retell his brilliant stories and philosophies.
